I sometimes look at challenges for inspiration with my card making, I need it! I saw this sketch challenge here. This is my attempt from scraps of card with a few decorations and an embossing folder for the ribbon strip..

I printed backing papers and letters from the Dreams Come True CD from Funky Hand
onto card.
I then printed off quotes about friends and friendship in WORD. I cut these out with die cuts and punches.
Decorated with Liquid Pearls, Stickles and various flowers.

Adventures in Craft

This is made using alcohol inks on glass and stamped images.I used a simple clip frame which cost less than £1-00.

It makes an inexpensive gift .

I used Autumnal coloured alcohol inks- Rust, Butterscotch, Caramel, Ginger and Terracota, just a few drops of each on the felt applicator. I dabbed and swirled around to get the effect I wanted.I stamped the inked side of the glass(it's less shiny after being inked) with a leaf stamp(Stazon worked best).

This is the adventurous bit, I stamped the glass on the un-inked side with Versamark then heat embossed with gold embossing powder- it worked best on the higher heat setting. I was somewhat anxious that the glass would splinter but it didn't. I'm pleased with the result.

I attached a piece of plain beige card between the glass and the backing board to cover the clips.

I've been messing about with alcohol inks , crystal lacquer , acetate, tissue paper plus mica powders and glitters here and there.
I saw a demonstration by the amazingly talented Sue Wilson(Particraft) on a craft programme. She used Autumn colours. I played around with similar colours as well as pinks, blues and purples. I've stamped some leaf shapes with Archival ink onto the acetate. These backgrounds are fun and easy to do, I think even my efforts look OK.

Here's how.
1.What you need, Acetate, Plain white tissue paper (crumple then unfold),Crystal lacquer, Alcohol inks in several colours, Mica powder
in a blending colour.
2.Squeeze some lacquer over the acetate- swirly pattern, drop some of the alcohol inks into the spaces, sprinkle with a small amount of mica.
Place tissue paper over the mess! Pat gently with kitchen roll and leave to dry- I left them overnight.

Finally this is a blend of pink, pale blue and butterscotch alcohol ink onto acetate.

This card was a change for me.
I used small and large scalloped circle punches for the flower shape.
Stamped the stem and leaves of a floral stamp.
Liquid Pearls for centre of flowers.
Birthday Greeting Stamp.

I've been playing with some stamps I've had for a while but not used.
Both stamps are available at Stamp Addicts
The stamped images are coloured with chalk ink pads.

All the cards use the postage stamp frame.

I made these from left over bits of card and paper. I think the patterned paper was a free gift in one of the many craft magazines I'd bought and forgotten about.

Here's the same paper in purple shades.

I used the stalk and leaf shapes and just stuck the punched out flower shapes at the top of the "stalk" then stuck a button on. The swirls are punched from bits of card.

Shrink Plastic

Yesterday I messed about with shrink plastic, I think I had more success shrinking using the oven rather than the heat gun; although I did the flower and greeting on this card with the heat gun.

Card Kaboodle Challenge

I've just discovered card making challenges so here goes with another one.This is the Kaboodle Challenge, join in if you enjoy card making it's great for new card making ideas too.

I'm Welsh, so this a Welsh theme, St David's Day is on 1st March. Daffodils are one of my favourite flowers. There's a Love spoon ( a Welsh tradition) and Celtic patterned peel offs to continue the Celtic theme. The daffodil is a Papermania stamp sold on behalf of Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Cards

I made some cards in shades of blue.

I used a medallion stamp, stamped the image with Versamark and embossed with blue embossing powder, then coloured different parts of the stamped image with a variety of colouring pens- glitter and glaze.
I left some parts of the image uncoloured so that the colour of the card I'd stamped on showed.

Bread

I make bread in my bread-maker. I follow this basic recipe but use any type of strong plain flour. I also use a mixture of white, wholemeal and granary. If the bread maker has two paddles I add half as much of all the ingredients.

300mL Warm Water
1teaspoon Salt
1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
450g Strong bread Flour
1teaspoon Dried yeast

Add the ingredients in the order recommended in your instruction book . select the Normal cycle for white bread.
I often use the Dough Cycle and make rolls which I freeze ready for my family's packed lunches for work and school.
